The seasons are changing as the cold wind from the North followed the Valley View students for their 4 day adventure at Loma Mar. The sun worked its magic during the day, but the clear, crisp nights with stars and planets (Jupiter) in full view, made the nights pretty cold.
This week began with a cooper’s hawk sighting near the garden. The raptors are continuing their migration — this cooper’s hawk has been hanging around site for the past few weeks. The week previous to this one brought big waves from the West (swell direction) and North West, which eventually brought our first rain of the season. We collected .7 inches in our rain gauge from the rain that fell on Friday night and Saturday day. The rain was our first since May and was and still is desperately needed.
