On Monday morning, the students from Vintage Hills and Parkmead Elementary schools stepped off of the bus and into the outdoors. They were greeted by an inspirational speaker and professional blogger, Patrick Peterson. Patrick welcomed the students to the outdoor school with a stunning performance, and an eagerly anticipated rain shower. The clouds burst, and it was official, the rain had arrived at Loma Mar!
The wet forest has drawn the banana slugs out of hiding, unveiled the bravest of the salamanders, and inspired the first edition of our weekly blog. The students from Vintage Hills and Parkmead will go down in history. They have hiked, explored, climbed, danced, listened, kissed banana slugs, and now, for the first time in ENH history, they have been blogged. We are happy to remember this week with our Pleasanton friends, in our minds and hearts, and now, on the internet!
All of the staff at Exploring New Horizons is looking forward to a magical year in the redwood forest. We are happy to welcome three fabulous and experienced naturalists to our staff this year, Shrike, Canyon, and Sol! We are also thrilled to have two enthusiastic and insightful interns, Spruce and Cypress here to join our family. And, keeping our family sane and healthy, we welcome the kind soul Sparrow as our Medic and EMT.
Thank you to all of the students, teachers, and counselors from Tolenas, Montair, Hearst, Mohr, and Rancho Romero for getting us off to a beautiful start this year.
Tune in next week for the next chapter of our ENH blog!
