Well, it’s spring time, and you can feel it. You can feel it in the suns warm rays shining down on the organic garden. You can feel it in your toes, as you carefully walk through the Pescadero Creek. You can hear it in the cacophony of bird songs, playing all day in the forest. You can feel it in the students, that energy and excitement, because summer is just around the corner. You can see it in the counselors, a spring time charge. It’s a balance of the growing momentum of change and the comfortable rhythm of routine. It’s that certain playfulness in everyone, captured in outdoor school smiles. Spring time is here, and it’s beautiful.

With the springtime beauty, our year at Outdoor School is coming to a close. But, how has it flown by so fast? An entire year of laughter, banana slugs, scat, barnyard boogies, questions, growth, challenge, community, students, teachers, and counselors. More than four thousand students came through the outdoor school this year, and over the 35 weeks of teaching, somehow outdoor school remained magical. The weeks slipped by, and the Exploring New Horizons family continued to grow exponentially. Those four thousand students all stepped off of the bus, with excitement or uncertainty, and then they became part of the ENH family. They learned from the forest, they learned from each other, and they each touched our lives.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the 2007/2008 school year here at ENH. It has been a beautiful year.
